Sunglasses Review: Red Wrap Around Eyeglass Frames from Firmoo

During the summer, I spend about as much time in the sun as the average mermaid. I dart in and out of waves of light only as much as I dare with my fair skin. My eyes are sensitive, too - I may not wear my sunglasses at night, but I do wear them outside year-round, even on cloudy days. They're a must-have fashion accessory so I own many pairs in different colors and styles!

Virtual Try OnIt hadn't occurred to me to buy glasses online until Firmoo.com approached me about writing a review. The funnest part of shopping for sunglasses is getting to try several pairs, right? Well, you can still do that on their website - Firmoo offers a Virtual Try-On system. All I had to do was upload a photo of me looking straight ahead, select my PD (am I the only one out there that doesn't know my Pupilliary Distance? I guessed ... badly and had to upload a few times until the sunglasses fit my face correctly. It would have been frustration-free if the widget let me change the PD value without having to go through entire process each time), click on my pupils and I was all set to browse!

Aquariann Modeling SunglassesI virtually tried on almost every pair of wraparound frames to see which ones fit my face shape the best. Although big frames are a 2013 fashion trend, I prefer them anyway because they better prevent UV rays AND wind from more angles. It was a tough decision, but the red sunglasses, style #OTO3502, I'm modeling to the left eventually won out over the purple tinted glasses above. Not only will the red match my swimsuit, but the silver hinge design is hot!

The glasses arrived a week later and I was impressed before I even wore them. They came packaged in a hard plastic case that fits easily in my purse so I don't have to worry about accidentally snapping yet another pair. Also included was a velvety pouch, polishing cloth, extra screws AND eyeglass screwdriver.

Red Sunglasses by Firmoo

The sunglasses are comfortable to wear and have been great for driving in the spring sunshine. So much so that I joined their affiliate program and added a button to my blog sidebar so I can hopefully earn enough to buy the purple pair, too. Firmoo even offers every new customer a pair of free glasses (including prescription lenses!), just as long as they pay shipping. Have you taken advantage of their cheap eyewear frames yet?

Disclaimer: I received these free sunglasses in exchange for an honest review. If you think your product would harmonize with my whimsical ramblings, please check out my blog sponsor page.

Makeup Giveaway: All Natural Mineral Cosmetics by Madison Street Beauty

EDIT: Giveaway is officially closed. Congratulations to Rita Szlovencsák for submitting the randomly chosen 57th entry. Perhaps it's the hot weather and the drought in Delaware, but I have been daydreaming about being a mermaid. That's why I gleamed to discover the Etsy Blog's Mermaid Makeup Tutorial when looking through the list of articles where my new giveaway sponsor's products have shimmered. Madison Street Beauty has dozens of magnificent eye shadow colors that could enhance the sexy siren in any creature. One lucky winner will even get to choose five full size eye shadows, as well as a foundation, a setting powder and a blush or bronzer sample for free. Amethyst, an opaque vegan eyeshadow of medium purple, would be my first pick, fins down. Look at those sparkles! If choosing only five colors is too difficult, why not try some natural samples first? The owners, Bridget and Rhys, are currently celebrating their one year Etsyversary and offering an astonish...

Handmade Giveaway: Scarf from Elizabeth Koh

EDIT: Giveaway is officially over. Congratulations to Susana Silva for submitting the randomly-chosen 392nd entry. Normal people go to the beach in the summer, but I prefer autumn when it's more peaceful. The weather may be chilly, but that's why scarves come in handy! Not to mention that they're also a fun fashion accessory. One winner will get to choose any scarf under $40 from Elizabeth Koh to heat up an outfit. Elizabeth Koh is not one person, but two - both Janelle and Megan's middle names are Elizabeth, and Koh means island in Thailand, where they handcraft all their cotton and silk scarves. Every collection is named after a beach or island in Thailand and feature a range of weights for wearing in several seasons. Elizabeth Koh is committed to improving the communities where their products are made, so 10% of proceeds are donated to SOS Children's Villages in Thailand. Not only will you help feed others by buying a scarf this holiday season, you'll al...
