WW: Wagamons Pond After Winter Snow Storm

Frozen Pond Picture

"Beauty, like ice, our footing does betray; Who can tread sure on the smooth, slippery way: Pleased with the surface, we glide swiftly on, And see the dangers that we cannot shun."
- John Dryden

The temperature in southern Delaware usually doesn't stay below freezing long enough for big puddles to freeze, let alone large bodies of water. Although I'm not fond of frigid weather, the effects can be stunning, such as snow sitting upon Wagamons Pond in Milton during a winter sunset.

  11. I'm a day behind. We got some of that white stuff on Tuesday. DH stayed home yesterday because of the icy, snow covered roads in our neighborhood. I wish I could have gotten outdoors early yesterday morning to photograph the snow, but it was all of 1°. I didn't feel brave enough to venture outside, but instead stayed in bed till 10am. lol This morning is wickedly cold, too. I just love your WW photo, though. This must have been awesome to see up close and personal through the lens. I would like an opportunity like this...someday! Happy WW! ;)

Makeup Giveaway: All Natural Mineral Cosmetics by Madison Street Beauty

EDIT: Giveaway is officially closed. Congratulations to Rita Szlovencsák for submitting the randomly chosen 57th entry. Perhaps it's the hot weather and the drought in Delaware, but I have been daydreaming about being a mermaid. That's why I gleamed to discover the Etsy Blog's Mermaid Makeup Tutorial when looking through the list of articles where my new giveaway sponsor's products have shimmered. Madison Street Beauty has dozens of magnificent eye shadow colors that could enhance the sexy siren in any creature. One lucky winner will even get to choose five full size eye shadows, as well as a foundation, a setting powder and a blush or bronzer sample for free. Amethyst, an opaque vegan eyeshadow of medium purple, would be my first pick, fins down. Look at those sparkles! If choosing only five colors is too difficult, why not try some natural samples first? The owners, Bridget and Rhys, are currently celebrating their one year Etsyversary and offering an astonish...

Handmade Giveaway: Scarf from Elizabeth Koh

EDIT: Giveaway is officially over. Congratulations to Susana Silva for submitting the randomly-chosen 392nd entry. Normal people go to the beach in the summer, but I prefer autumn when it's more peaceful. The weather may be chilly, but that's why scarves come in handy! Not to mention that they're also a fun fashion accessory. One winner will get to choose any scarf under $40 from Elizabeth Koh to heat up an outfit. Elizabeth Koh is not one person, but two - both Janelle and Megan's middle names are Elizabeth, and Koh means island in Thailand, where they handcraft all their cotton and silk scarves. Every collection is named after a beach or island in Thailand and feature a range of weights for wearing in several seasons. Elizabeth Koh is committed to improving the communities where their products are made, so 10% of proceeds are donated to SOS Children's Villages in Thailand. Not only will you help feed others by buying a scarf this holiday season, you'll al...
