Manicure Monday: Four-Leaf Clover Stamp for St. Patrick's Day

Four-Leaf Clover Nail Art

Guest Post by May Chiu of La Vie en May

I love all holidays because it gives me an excuse to create some fun nail art, (not that I ever need one though). St. Patrick's Day is a day my friends and I take seriously. We throw on layers upon layers of green: shirts, necklaces, glasses, suspenders, the list goes on and on. Me being a nail fanatic, I just had to do something with my nails.

This year, I decided to keep my nails simple. I used Essie's "First Timer", a beautiful pastel green, as a base coat and mixed my own green color for the 4-leaf clover stamp on a MASH plate. If you're wondering if you can mix nail polish like paint, the answer is yes! Great way to create your own colors, without having to buy more polishes. To make the clover stand out, I outlined the design in black. What do you guys think? How did you dress up your nails for St. Patrick's Day?

  1. My daughter will love this diy nail tip. She does not like the nail wraps so much. But, this is just her cup of tea! Thanks for sharing!

  3. I love that green. I love May and her blog too!
I used a shade that was voted for on my Instagram feed. But I kept it simple, no clovers for me. I linked up my tumblr post that shows the color I used. =0)

Makeup Giveaway: All Natural Mineral Cosmetics by Madison Street Beauty

EDIT: Giveaway is officially closed. Congratulations to Rita Szlovencsák for submitting the randomly chosen 57th entry. Perhaps it's the hot weather and the drought in Delaware, but I have been daydreaming about being a mermaid. That's why I gleamed to discover the Etsy Blog's Mermaid Makeup Tutorial when looking through the list of articles where my new giveaway sponsor's products have shimmered. Madison Street Beauty has dozens of magnificent eye shadow colors that could enhance the sexy siren in any creature. One lucky winner will even get to choose five full size eye shadows, as well as a foundation, a setting powder and a blush or bronzer sample for free. Amethyst, an opaque vegan eyeshadow of medium purple, would be my first pick, fins down. Look at those sparkles! If choosing only five colors is too difficult, why not try some natural samples first? The owners, Bridget and Rhys, are currently celebrating their one year Etsyversary and offering an astonish...

Handmade Giveaway: Scarf from Elizabeth Koh

EDIT: Giveaway is officially over. Congratulations to Susana Silva for submitting the randomly-chosen 392nd entry. Normal people go to the beach in the summer, but I prefer autumn when it's more peaceful. The weather may be chilly, but that's why scarves come in handy! Not to mention that they're also a fun fashion accessory. One winner will get to choose any scarf under $40 from Elizabeth Koh to heat up an outfit. Elizabeth Koh is not one person, but two - both Janelle and Megan's middle names are Elizabeth, and Koh means island in Thailand, where they handcraft all their cotton and silk scarves. Every collection is named after a beach or island in Thailand and feature a range of weights for wearing in several seasons. Elizabeth Koh is committed to improving the communities where their products are made, so 10% of proceeds are donated to SOS Children's Villages in Thailand. Not only will you help feed others by buying a scarf this holiday season, you'll al...
