Manicure Monday: Flower Nail Wraps by Jamberry Nails

Flower Nail Wraps by Jamberry Nails

Guest Post by Denise Boudreau of Nail Embellishments

After a particularly long and snowy winter in Northern Ontario, it’s finally time to shed the winter coats and boots and start welcoming the sunshine and (slightly) warmer weather. Although there are no actual flowers out up here yet, they are blooming in all of their glory on both my fingernails and toenails. These Jamberry nail wraps are called Flower Shop and they incorporate my favorite shades in a shabby chic floral design.

I had never even heard of Jamberry nail wraps until Aquariann invited me to an online party she was hosting. I promptly ordered one set of nail wraps to try them out and I’ve been hooked ever since. I applied the nail wraps to my toenails with the help of my daughter. The application process was easy enough and the results were so beautiful that I started thinking about becoming a consultant. I wanted to be smart about it so I watched and waited for 29 days and there was no chipping, no peeling and no deterioration of the wraps on my toes whatsoever. I had one more test to put them through and that was removing them. I was thrilled that the removal process was also easy and there was no damage to my nails. I signed on to become a consultant two weeks ago and am excited to branch out and show others how fun, easy and beautiful their nails can be, too! Everyone is welcome to join my launch party on Facebook, where I'll be sharing fun updates about my new addiction through Tuesday.

  3. Very pretty. Now if only I had the fingernails for them. Bending wire to make earrings, pendant bails and wire embellished jewelry is not very kind on the old fingernails. :(

  4. Almost Precious, I also make jewelry and these wraps actually have protected my brittle nails from breaking allowing them to grow longer than they usually would have been :)

  6. I'm so behind the times - I haven't even heard of nail wraps! Would be interesting to see if they can withstand the pressures of beading and wire-working. My usual manicures never can :)

Makeup Giveaway: All Natural Mineral Cosmetics by Madison Street Beauty

EDIT: Giveaway is officially closed. Congratulations to Rita Szlovencsák for submitting the randomly chosen 57th entry. Perhaps it's the hot weather and the drought in Delaware, but I have been daydreaming about being a mermaid. That's why I gleamed to discover the Etsy Blog's Mermaid Makeup Tutorial when looking through the list of articles where my new giveaway sponsor's products have shimmered. Madison Street Beauty has dozens of magnificent eye shadow colors that could enhance the sexy siren in any creature. One lucky winner will even get to choose five full size eye shadows, as well as a foundation, a setting powder and a blush or bronzer sample for free. Amethyst, an opaque vegan eyeshadow of medium purple, would be my first pick, fins down. Look at those sparkles! If choosing only five colors is too difficult, why not try some natural samples first? The owners, Bridget and Rhys, are currently celebrating their one year Etsyversary and offering an astonish...

Handmade Giveaway: Scarf from Elizabeth Koh

EDIT: Giveaway is officially over. Congratulations to Susana Silva for submitting the randomly-chosen 392nd entry. Normal people go to the beach in the summer, but I prefer autumn when it's more peaceful. The weather may be chilly, but that's why scarves come in handy! Not to mention that they're also a fun fashion accessory. One winner will get to choose any scarf under $40 from Elizabeth Koh to heat up an outfit. Elizabeth Koh is not one person, but two - both Janelle and Megan's middle names are Elizabeth, and Koh means island in Thailand, where they handcraft all their cotton and silk scarves. Every collection is named after a beach or island in Thailand and feature a range of weights for wearing in several seasons. Elizabeth Koh is committed to improving the communities where their products are made, so 10% of proceeds are donated to SOS Children's Villages in Thailand. Not only will you help feed others by buying a scarf this holiday season, you'll al...
