Branch out to Pencils and Fireflies!

Pencils and Fireflies Logo ArtIf reading art blogs makes you glow, flit on over to Pencils and Fireflies. The beautiful blogger behind it, Amalia, is a full time independent illustrator and crafts enthusiast. She began the blog during a dark time, when life had stolen away her dreams. Just when the nights were at their blackest, she started doodling again and drew hope back into her heart. Art is her haven, one she invites her readers to take refuge in whenever they feel worn down to the end of an eraser nub. Amalia's made it her personal project to show us that art heals and makes us better people at the end.

The Bee and I ArtHer blog focuses on art in all forms. She writes about her life, work, inspirations and passion for art. And although the images from other artists she finds are amazing, my favorite posts are from her In The Studio category. Reading how pieces evolve from daydreams into reality always fascinates me.

For example, the charming pair to the left. I wouldn't have guessed Amalia was an insectophobic and kept cringing as she drew the bee. Despite her fear, she had to share the vision created just by buzzing across a page about bees in her daughter's junior encyclopedia. Make a beeline for Pencils and Fireflies if you want to know more about her wonderful artworks!

Giveaway: Clear Quartz Dagger Earrings by WireQueen

EDIT: Giveaway is officially over! Congratulations to the randomly chosen 108th commenter, Andalene! Accessorize an outfit and rejuvenate your spirit at the same time! Michelle of WireQueen is bequeathing a beautiful pair of clear quartz earrings to one of my readers. The design is named "Midwife Healer" in honor of the midwife that delivered her second daughter. The four sided dagger beads are different lengths and embraced by sterling silver wrap with surgical steel earwires. She has already cleared the crystals, but if you ever need to recharge or remove unwanted energy, simply place in a window that is beaming with sunlight. Michelle believes that the Creator gave to all things a purpose, including gemstones. She covers as little of the "face" of the stone as possible, but still secures it safely in its setting. She has customers who are still wearing creations that are over 10 years old! She's been selling jewelry offline for years, but only recently began...
