Wordless Wednesday: Unicorn Fish

"Alice could not help her lips curling up into a smile as she began: 'Do you know, I always thought Unicorns were fabulous monsters, too! I never saw one alive before!' 'Well, now that we have seen each other,' said the Unicorn, 'if you'll believe in me, I'll believe in you.'" - Through the Looking Glass by Lewis Carroll Flutter to my Wordless Wednesday Directory for a list of blogs that regularly host WW Linky Parties. Steampunk Unicorn ACEO Drawing

The unicorn stood guard outside the tavern, unmoving in the golden light cast from the gas lamps towering overhead. Any minute the thief could come darting out of the brass door, pursued by his bounty huntress. The poor soul would be sorry he hadn't agreed to come quietly when he saw the sharp horn waiting for him. This is what galloped out of my head for the Fantasy Artists of Etsy's horse-themed art challenge for July. Unicorn ACEO inked with black Sakura Pigma Micron Pens and colored with Prismacolor pencils onto Strathmore Smooth Bristol Paper . Canter over to Sunday Sketches to see more art by creative souls.

Work In Progress: Steampunk Unicorn ACEO Sketch

A year and a half ago when Carapace proposed monthly art challenges for the Fantasy Artists of Etsy team, I had lofty hopes of partaking in every single one. I rose strong by drawing a winged wolf to celebrate the name of January's Full Moon , then did a muzzle dive and haven't participated since. Until today! I drew a steampunk unicorn for July's horse theme. ACEO is inked with black Sakura Pigma Micron Pens onto Strathmore Smooth Bristol Paper and soon to be cantering in Prismacolor pencils . Gallop over to Sunday Sketches to see more art by creative souls.

Treasury Tuesday: Magical Twilight Hour

Recent spring storms have turned the sunset skies a strange array of shades at once. Last Thursday the mix of clouds in all directions looked like they floated off the set of a Neverending Story movie and into my neighborhood. Julie of Mermaiden Creations captured the magical twilight hour before the fall of a full moon night in a Fantasy Artists of Etsy team collection. Amongst the hues of purple glimmers a gossamer filigree leather butterfly mask, a Book of Shadows hand painted keepsake box, and my unicorn bookmark. Friday Finds, One-Horned Style: Unicorn

I need a way to appease the rain and thunder gods (except Thor , already got him covered with the $13 I spent ogling his movie on Wednesday night) so they don't storm on the 2011 Maryland Faerie Festival this weekend and thwart our Sunday day trip. I've been twice and both times I've gleefully glimpsed Sweetie the Unicorn to add to my fantasy collages . Today I journeyed to Etsy to find her magical kin galloping majestically around the grounds. 1. Unicorn - Posable Felt - Soft Sculpture by House of Trouble 2. Treasury Tuesday: Bright Colors Seen In Delaware

We're not out of winter's woods yet - the wind yesterday had me grimacing and pulling my wool jacket tighter. However, the last of the dirty snow piles have finally melted from parking lots and shadowy corners. Green buds have started to stretch toward the sunlight, and vibrant blooms are sure to follow. The Delaware Etsy Street Team is ready to greet spring with bright colors of their own, from Swarovski crystal jewelry and fabric headbands to Lardnar Oatar the monster doll and my sunset unicorn magnet. Friday Finds, Elf Style: Candy Cane Forest

The other night, the Ogre and I sipped on Irish coffees, decorated the Christmas tree and watched Elf . We didn't eat a whole roll of Tollhouse cookie dough as fast as we could, but we did snuggle during the end of the movie. It's so nice to have found a soulmate that shares my affinity for elf culture. Inspired by Buddy's adventure from the North Pole to New York, I passed through the seven levels of the Candy Cane Forest during my weekly walk around the handmade hills of Etsy. I got a little dizzy in the Sea of Swirly Twirly Gum Drops, but emerged triumphantly with these adorable creations. Don't be a cotton-headed ninny-muggins - go take a closer look! 1. Candy Cane Jane Striped Neck Warmer by Mademoiselle Mermaid 2. Candy Cane Unicorn by The Dream Angels 3. Peppermint Pixie Doll Ornament by The Fairies Nest 4. Giveaway: Unicorn Wine Charms by FantastiCrafts

EDIT: Giveaway is officially over! Congratulations to the randomly chosen 134th commenter, Asuka ! Wouldn't these unicorn wine charms add a little magic to your next celebration? Nicole of FantastiCrafts paired these four fantastical metal charms with blue seed beads and purple accent beads on a medium sized wire ring that will fit most stemmed glassware. She's gifting a set to one of my blog readers this holiday season! When Nicole was only eleven, her mom bestowed her with hemp supplies from the 70s that she'd found. Nicole has been making unique jewelry ever since. It wasn't until eight years later that her hobby became a serious business venture - thanks to another present from her mother, a handmade necklace. "It was so beautiful and I was surprised that it was made entirely of beads and findings that I recognized from local craft stores. I was inspired by the realization that this was something I could make, and my talent took off from there. It wasn't l...

Purple and Orange...a Tropical Sunset Treasury

Yesterday I quietly shared a photograph of an autumn sunset over the Nassau Valley Vineyards in Lewes, Delaware. It was a bit chilly capturing it, so today I'm trying to warm up by sharing this vibrant collection curated by J Kamakate. My Sunset unicorn magnet is basking in the brilliant embers of last sunlight.

September Glow Treasury

A pink haze coated the world during my drive home from work tonight. Just before the sun dripped entirely below the horizon, the moon was illuminated in an orange creamsicle glow. Gingeraly has managed to capture the essence of September skies. My Sunset unicorn bookmark blends softly into her splendid collection.

Oh Sunny Day Treasury

It may be a dreary, rainy day in Delaware, but not on Etsy! My Sunset unicorn bookmark is featured in a brilliant EtsyTwitter team treasury, chosen by award winning glass artist Susan of My Sassy Glass . *cartwheels* Put on your sunglasses and bask in this bright collection before it sets Sunday, March 14th at 1:48 pm. PS: If the treasury expires before you're able to view it and you want to see a featured item, add ".etsy.com" after the username (they're on the second line under the picture, left of the price - and if they're hard to read, right click on the image so you can view it full size) and you'll be magically whisked away to their shop. For example, you'd type my username, "aquariann," then ".etsy.com" and abra ca dabra: aquariann.etsy.com
