WW: Head of Cabbage

Head of Cabbage Photo

"Enough of acting the infant who has been told so often how he was found under a cabbage that in the end he remembers the exact spot in the garden and the kind of life he led there before joining the family circle."
- Samuel Beckett

I was walking around Nassau Valley Vineyards last Wednesday while they were harvesting their garden ... and the owner offered me this cute cabbage! I can imagine a Cabbage Patch Kid growing in it, can't you?

  1. No, Autena - I gave it to a coworker to cook. I only like the taste of cabbage when it's well-disguised in an egg roll. ;D

  7. I can picture Anne Geddes using this for one of her baby photos. Your photo is beautiful. It would be lovely enlarged, framed and hung in a kitchen.

  8. That is a lovely cabbage, I can definitely see a cabbage patch kid coming from there. I remember how crazy it was when they came out. My sister and I didn't get one right away, but when we did we had twins. I had the girl my sister had the boy

  11. Ahhh, the ever popular Cabbage Patch Kids. I remember the local newspaper came out to my Kindergarten class and asked what we all wanted. My mom still has the clipping where I said Cabbage Patch Kids. Lovely shot and quote!

  14. I love how detailed the leaves of the cabbage can be seen. Great photo! You know as popular as the Cabbage Patch dolls were they never really grew on me. In fact, I always thought they were rather ugly. Babies...all babies, human that is, are all beautiful! I don't think I've ever seen an ugly one, have you? Some people say, "Oh what an ugly baby!" And, I'm thinking how can you say this about wee one? My uncle was so guilty of saying the same thing about his first born. I was stunned by his comment. lol Thanks for hosting!

    Oh, Tannenbaum!
