WW: 1966 Batmobile Pictures

1966 Batmobile Car Photo

1966 Batmobile Art

"I was obsessed with Batman as a kid. I did the film in part just to be near the Batmobile. But I also think [director] Christopher Nolan made a very fine, intelligent film."
- Cillian Murphy

Holy fuzzy fruit, Batman! I went to Middletown's Old-Tyme Peach Festival last weekend and was giddily surprised to see the 1966 Batmobile gleaming at the car show. Back in college, I chose the super hero car as the subject of one of my very first graphic arts projects in Illustrator. I'm still proud of my original digital drawing (second Batmobile picture above) even though I ran out of steam by the time my pen tool reached the wheels. I am much quicker ten years later - it only took me a few minutes to trace around my photo of the old school Batmobile so I could blur out the background in Photoshop.

  11. The old Batman & Robin TV show from the 60s was one of my favorite programs. These days, I'm not so much into the newer take offs - too gothic appealing to suit my taste, but lots of people really dig the movies. Gr8, fun pic!

  17. Did you draw the bottom? If so, great job!

I also was wondering if you had plans on attending Dragon*Con in Atlanta, GA on Labor day weekend? We are going Saturday. We go every year and I'm so excited! :)

    1. I did, thank you! And no, I haven't made it to Dragon*Con yet, although I hope to someday. Have fun! I usually go to Baltimore Comic-Con and FaerieCon every year since they're only a couple hours away from my house. :D
