Handmade Trove: Peacock Blanket by Tapestries Home

Handmade Bedspread by Tapestries Home

Look at the pretty peacock mandala tapestry that strutted into my yard just in time for summer season! Real peacocks only drift short distances into the air, but this beautiful beach blanket flew all the way from the Tapestries Home studio in India. Despite the double bedspread measuring a whopping 84 x 94 inches, the 100% cotton fabric folds up nicely to fit in a beach bag. My town is starting its annual free summer concert nights at the end of May and this lightweight blanket will be perfect to carry on the walk to the park.

Are you also looking forward to spending more time outdoors? You could win this same Indian print in a single bedspread size ... or choose from dozens of other 54" x 85" designs! But you better move your tail feathers fast and enter to win Tapestries Home's Handmade Giveaway before May 20, 2015.

Disclaimer: I received this free blanket as a thank you gift for hosting a handmade giveaway. If you think your creations would harmonize with my whimsical ramblings, learn how to sponsor a giveaway here.

  1. There are some absolutely spreads & throws on the site aren't there? I'd even wear some of them as a wrap. And yes, I am looking forward to being able to spend more time outside. I've been stuck inside in a wheelchair after having a major job done on a wonky leg back in February and this being Ireland, by the time I've managed to get outside it's started to rain!

  4. That is so pretty! How thick or thin are these? You say you're going to use it as a park blanket, so it can't be terribly thin. Let me know!

    1. It's slightly thicker than a bedsheet, so I wouldn't recommend it on cold days, but it makes a nice barrier between sand and bugs for summer activities.

Giveaway: Clear Quartz Dagger Earrings by WireQueen

EDIT: Giveaway is officially over! Congratulations to the randomly chosen 108th commenter, Andalene! Accessorize an outfit and rejuvenate your spirit at the same time! Michelle of WireQueen is bequeathing a beautiful pair of clear quartz earrings to one of my readers. The design is named "Midwife Healer" in honor of the midwife that delivered her second daughter. The four sided dagger beads are different lengths and embraced by sterling silver wrap with surgical steel earwires. She has already cleared the crystals, but if you ever need to recharge or remove unwanted energy, simply place in a window that is beaming with sunlight. Michelle believes that the Creator gave to all things a purpose, including gemstones. She covers as little of the "face" of the stone as possible, but still secures it safely in its setting. She has customers who are still wearing creations that are over 10 years old! She's been selling jewelry offline for years, but only recently began...
