I heart Etsy and all of my customers!

etsy is xoxoI opened my fantasy art Etsy shop four years ago, after a super sweet jewelry artist, Aimee of Jewel Street Designs discovered my work at a craft fair and enthusiastically insisted I check out Etsy. I had been halfheartedly trying to sell my art online at deviantArt and eBay, but both venues had made me feel akin to microscopic plankton drifting silently through infinite waters. The amount of support from fellow Etsians in the first month alone could have powered a rocket to Saturn.

My first sale was on July 17, 2006, only days after I listed my first item. Can you imagine my elation as I packed my very first fantasy art magnet to ship to Jenny of Sneddonia Designs, all the way across the sea in the United Kingdom? I've been just as excited for every sale since - I can barely believe I received my 300th last week from Brenda of Brenda's Beads & More in Washington! *tap dances*

It's amazing to ponder my artwork residing in so many places around the world. After browsing several albums on Facebook where artists share photos of their work displayed in fan's homes, I'd love to start my own. Please leave a link on my wall if you'd like to share a photo of a space that my art occupies.

Thank you so fairy much to all my customers, followers, friends and family. I appreciate your support more than I can possibly express.

For those poor, unfortunate souls *nostalgic sigh for Ursula and the Little Mermaid* in the dark, Etsy is an online marketplace for buying and selling all things handmade. It's free to open your own online shop, and just 20 cents per four-month listing and a 3.5% commission on each sale. Click here to join if you'd like to use my name as a referral.

  9. I think a gallery of your art in people's homes *is* a sharp idea. My artist friend Nicole has one on her fb fan page and I love seeing how other people 'translate' a piece into their environment.
