Steampunk Rose Art ACEO

Since the first (and sadly, only) time I participated in Sketch Fest, the creative jam session has been lengthened from a 24 to a 48 hour event! I still couldn't snag even an hour to pick up my pencils at Sketch Fest #32 because I had blog posts to prepare before vacationing to Williamsburg the next day. That didn't stop me from plucking a prompt from the bountiful bouquet to draw later, though. I had such fun drawing flowers during the Summer of Color challenge that Vikki's Steampunk Rose idea instantly ensnared me. If I lived in an industrial world where roses wouldn't grow, I'd have to craft ones out of metal instead!

  1. that would be interesting to see in real metal. I like the design in the center, that star-shaped center.

    have a great day.

  3. I love the color and shading on this one! You made a great job.

And the concept is really cool.~ I'm just wondering, how long did it take to make this?

  4. That's a good question, Gretchen! Perhaps about 5 hours? It's hard to tell with my art because I stop and blog sporadically when working on a drawing.
