Fairy glitter and cage fighting

Last weekend I found myself at two events that attracted two polar opposite audiences - FaerieCon and ... an amateur MMA fight. Obviously I felt more at ease around the fluttering faes than the screaming beer-guzzlers, but both were quite fun in their own unique way. Saturday night Justin and I met his parents, my parents and three more friends in Harrington for Primal Fights ' first show, "Genesis." Thanks to Justin, many televised fights have served as background noise when my nose is stuck in the computer, but I'd never been to a live one. I certainly have more of an appreciation for the sport now. I may have been sneaking the pumpkin and dark chocolate chip cookies I baked earlier that day out of my purse instead of drinking beer and shouting, but I did a fair amount of clapping. And wincing, especially when one particularly bouncy fellow was flipped over and dropped on his head. I can't deny the experience was exciting. I'd go to another fight, as long as...

I am Catwoman. Hear me roar.

October leapt by in a streak of black and sparkle. Every time I even thought about writing a blog entry, someone would wave something shiny in my face and I'd pounce. There was the Rehoboth Beach Jazz Festival, the LDAF Bling Ball, Zombieland ... not to mention several friends with birthdays, including Justin, whose gift I will be blogging about in the very near future because it is that super! Plus Baltimore Comic-Con and Halloween, which I must describe in more detail. October 11th and 12th was Baltimore Comic-Con, and instead of just going for a day trip this year, Justin and I made a much-needed 4-day weekend of it. We stayed at a lovely Country Inn near the airport. Their unlimited chocolate chip cookies and french vanilla cappuccino had me at hello. Friday night we went swimming and then relaxed in the hot tub. Saturday was a bit tricky getting to the convention center, as several streets were blocked off because of the Baltimore Marathon. Once we finally arrived, I was again...

Unseelie Masquerade Treasury

My Tina fairy magnet is featured in a stunning treasury, chosen by the lovely AJ of Erthe Fae Designs . I am elated to be invited to the same ball as several of my favorite Etsyians. *glows* Dance with us before we scatter on Thursday, September 10th at 5:15am. PS: If the treasury expires before you're able to view it and you want to see a featured item, add ".etsy.com" after the username (they're on the second line under the picture, left of the price - and if they're hard to read, right click on the image so you can view it full size) and you'll be magically whisked away to their shop. For example, you'd type my username, "aquariann," then ".etsy.com" and abra ca dabra: aquariann.etsy.com

For Joyce Treasury

Sandi of Handmade By Sandi created a beautiful treasury dedicated to our fellow EtsyTwitter team member, Joyce of Wild Orchid's Beads of Glass . Joyce has been diagnosed with lung cancer, so please send oodles of sparkly thoughts and healing wishes her way. She has a thread posted at LUNGevity.org to update friends during her struggle.

The Many Colors of the EtsyTwitter Team in chakra order - BLUE!!! Treasury

My Ashley fairy magnet is featured in another beautiful EtsyTwitter Team treasury, this time chosen by ripperarts . I'm a fan of using bold colors in my art, so I'm excited to see my work among such very different, but just as vibrant, handmade items. *flashes* View this collection before it disperses on Friday, August 14th at 9:48pm. PS: If the treasury expires before you're able to view it and it's life or death that you see a featured item, add ".etsy.com" after the username (they're on the second line under the picture, left of the price - and if they're hard to read, right click on the image so you can view it full size) and you'll be magically whisked away to their shop. For example, you'd type my username, "aquariann," then ".etsy.com" and abra ca dabra: aquariann.etsy.com

Green Tea Peachsicle or Tangerine Dreamsicle Treasury

I've yet to meet a tea flavor I like, so even though Green Tea Peachsicle sounds delicious and so refreshing, I'd have to slurp down the Tangerine Dreamsicle on a hot day like today. It'd be hard to choose a favorite handmade creation from this treasury, though - they're all amazing and the colors go so magnificently together. I'm honored that my Aware magnet was included in this showcase of EtsyTwitter Team and California Crafters of Etsy items, chosen by prettycheap . *sparkles* Go see it before it melts away on Saturday, August 1st at 6:05am. PS: If the treasury expires before you're able to view it and it's life or death that you see a featured item, add ".etsy.com" after the username (they're on the second line under the picture, left of the price - and if they're hard to read, right click on the image so you can view it full size) and you'll be magically whisked away to their shop.
